History

Charity Champions started as a small committee of women who began meeting in May of 2012. Our original purpose was to function essentially as a booster club for Tri-County Animal Rescue, our first non-profit partner. Throughout 2012 and continuing into 2013 we functioned as The Tri-County Rescue Girls and worked closely with Tri-County to hold shopping events, adoption events, volunteer at their shelter and smaller events throughout Broward and the Palm Beaches. We sought donations, helped spread awareness, and helped find rescuers to save dogs from high-kill shelters. We threw our inaugural Bark After Dark in honor of Tri-County Animal Rescue and successfully raised over $10,000 that evening, 100% of which was donated to Tri-County.

We grew to realize that our group could help multiple organizations, and voted to reform our committee as its own entity. In May of 2013, we were officially granted 501(c)(3) status and became Charity Champions. We’ve interviewed several fantastic organizations already, and look forward to all of the wonderful causes we’ll support in the future.
